Our C-sleeves have been tested according to the requirements of new certifications. Short-circuit tests have been carried out on tin-plated C-sleeves in compliance with standards EN 61238-1-1:2019 and IEC 60947-7-1:2009. For unplated, copper C-sleeves, short-circuit tests have been performed according to the latter standard.

Short-circuit tests in accordance with EN 61238-1-1:2019 have been conducted on connections made with aluminium cables. This test is particularly challenging to pass because the sleeve is subjected to significant stress during the test, even more than in standard testing. Tests in compliance with IEC 60947-7-1:2009 have been carried out on connections made with copper cables. Unplated C-sleeves are suitable exclusively for copper cables.

Your benefit from this new testing when using C-sleeves is the assurance that the sleeves can withstand potential fault conditions in the event of a short circuit. Short circuits are among the most common causes of system failures and even electrical fires.

Testing and certification of electrical connectors are key for us as a manufacturer of safe and high-quality products. Certification guarantees our customers that when installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions, the product is safe and the connection can withstand the required stress both mechanically and electrically.
